April 2018
In April 2018 I went on back to my beloved African continent, but this time we skipped the lodges and decided to experience the wildlife much closer. Equipped with two Landrovers including roof tents we headed into the Okavango Delta and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans to camp in-between elephants, hyenas, lions and hippos.
“One of Africa's most popular and exclusive safari destinations, Botswana is a fascinating world, home to well-known landmarks such as the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari Desert and the Chobe National Park.”
Waking up in the middle of the night to sounds of roaring lions or hyena laughs was frightening in the beginning but the longer we stayed the more I enjoyed it, to the point that I often miss the sound of nature once back in Switzerland.
